Metro Prayer for June 27, 2008

There is a disturbing trend of thieves stealing mail right from citizens' mailboxes around the Metro area. The results is stolen identities, checks and credit cards. Many of the victims are senior citizens who are easily devastated by such theft. Please pray against these schemes and also protection over the city. Typically, Gay Pride day is celebrated in June by the homosexual community. Use this occasion to pray redemption, hope, peace, and healing for those individuals who experience sexual struggles. “Father, draw them to yourself and reveal to them the wonders of your love.”

Teen Challenge of the Midlands provides hope in Christ and freedom from addiction in residential centers. Teen Challenge of the Midlands program is 12 months in length. The first seven months are spent in their training center in Colfax, IA, followed by the five-month re-entry phase in Omaha..Surveys have show most treatment facilities to have discouraging results as low as 5% rehabilitation. A study sponsored by the Department of Health, Education and Welfare showed that one program had an 86% success rate with a group of heroin addicts seven years after completion.
